Volunteer With Us!
Help provide calm words when they're needed most
Switchboard LGBT+ offers a listening service to members of the LGBT, as well as their friends, family and those supporting them.
We are non-judgemental and non-directive in our approach, meaning we won't ever tell anyone what to do.
Instead, we'' listen, ask questions and help the service user come to their own conclusions.
Volunteering at Switchboard
We have a community of over 200 active volunteers and this is growing every day.
We aim to create a space that enables volunteers to connect, learn new skills and ultimately give back to the LGBTQIA+ community.
From social events to wellbeing initiatives and training courses, we have something for everyone to help them stay engaged and motivated.

About Switchboard LGBTQIA+
Switchboard LGBT+ exists to provide members of the LGBTQIA+ community (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual and related identities), as well as their friends, family and those supporting them, with a listening service that they can contact via phone, instant message and email between the hours of 10am to 10pm every day.
We are happy to talk to service users about any topic they wish. Topics we often talk to service users about include: sexual health, safer sex, relationships, coming-out, gender identity, transitioning, mental health, experiences of hate crimes, support for meeting other LGBT+ people and making friends, and much more.
